Depressive Disorders: Pharmacotherapy

In the pharmacological treatment of depression there is made a distinction between the long-term treatment with antidepressants, which aims at achieving a lasting stabilization of the emotional state, and the acute or emergency treatment, for example with neuroleptic drugs, which aims at a rapid stabilization.
